Blood withdrawal

Can I get my Quick/INR results by SMS?

Gestational diabetes: How long is the oral glucose tolerance test?

Oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) is used during pregnancy for diagnosing gestational diabetes. Preparation for the oral glucose tolerance test involves fasting overnight. The test will measure blood glucose levels several times over a period of 2 or 3 hours (depending on your medical prescription).

Please call us on (+352) 780 290 1 to make an appointment for the OGTT.

How can I take an anonymous HIV testing?

You can get tested anonymously in all our centers. With an anonymous HIV testing, the result is reported using a numbered code. You will get this code after blood collection. The results will be available within 2 or 3 days and can be communicated on request by phone (+352) 780 290 1.
Since the test is anonymous, you will not receive a copy of the results.
You can also get a nominal testing prescribed by your physician.

How long is my medical prescription valid?

A medical prescription for laboratory diagnostics is valid for 2 months. Your physician can extend the date of validity up to 6 months.

I’m expected to fast prior to testing. What does this mean?

If you have been requested to fast, please follow the instructions below:

Do not eat for a period of 8-12 hours prior to testing.
Do not drink alcohol, no juice, no soft drink.
Avoid smoking during the fasting hours.
You can have a beverage without sugar (water, coffee or tea).

What are EMLA patches used for?

EMLA patches are local anesthetics with special agents which allow the products to pass through the skin. The numbing effect of the agents reduce the pain. ELMA is a prescribed pharmaceutical product and it is fully appropriate for children who may fear the needles. EMLA patches must be applied at least one hour prior to having the blood sample collected.
Please call the laboratory if you have questions about how and where to put EMLA. Tel. +352 780 290-1

What tests require fasting?

Fasting is necessary for certain tests because the nutrients in recently consumed foods and beverages can impact your test results. Tests to determine glucose usually require fasting and lipids levels (cholesterol etc.) may occasionally require fasting. Your health care provider will advise you at the time of his or her ordering the test, if fasting is required for your tests.
If you need more information, you can also contact us on (+352) 780 290-1.
